ipoker crackdown on rakeback

    Dear Player,
NoiQPoker will be fenced off from the iPoker network from the 29th of November until the 6th of December. This does Not included MTT and Sit n Go’s.
This means that none of our players will be able to play cash games against other iPoker skins; cash games between NoiQ players will still be possible. So NoiQ players will only be able to play against other NoiQ players for 7 days.

The reason for this is as follows:

Some affiliates have advertised NoiQ's VIP system. This is no longer allowed according to current iPoker policy.
Some sites containing the term RAKE are advertising NoiQPoker. Again, this is not allowed according to the latest iPoker policy.
NoiQ have failed to remove our name from all rake domains. We have done our best but it's hard to find them all.

While we have done our best to inform our affiliates of all iPoker policy changes, some affiliates continue to mention the VIP system.

In a way I'm glad to see it - even though I have an account with NOIQ, because they started blabbing it to Rakeback sites and it's all about greed.

There are still sites out there that offer rakeback i.e. Noble for example have done for years on the iPoker network, but if you speak to their hosts etc. they will never blab it out - they insist on calling it VIP & VIP only.

Where as NOIQ have even told me on MSN what they do is rakeback, they're own fault IMO and to blab it out on MSN is a big blunder - I could of just as well worked for iPoker.

Noble stopped offering RB as soon as iPoker made the rule that no more RB was allowed. Any people who had RB accounts were "grand-fathered" in as with every Poker site that stops offering RB. But when they offered it there was nothing wrong with what they were doing. some networks allow RB some don't. iPoker changed recently to now be one that doesn't allow RB.

Obviously NoIQ were still offering RB to new sign-up's against the rules and this is nice to see by iPoker.

Ahh you learn something new everyday Ste, but correct me if i'm wrong - they still have a VIP Program which in a polite manner is a mild form of rakeback.

Most iPoker clients have a VIP offering. I'm really surprised that there hasnt been an indepth analysis of which site is offering the best as I believe there are sizeable differences between them. We have made the details of our VIP system very clear and iPoker are perfectly happy with that and with us. NoIQ were just being dumb and needed a slap.

    DeV.

Pretty much, but it's still not RB. Fecked if I know the difference, but there is a difference nonetheless. Could be something to do with affiliates or something. i.e. RB usually involves affiliates, VIP normally doesn't, but again I don't know the difference.

I play on noiqpoker and am seriously annoyed about this, the site is a ghost town at the moment obviously enough. Ultimately it is a slap on the wrist which boils down to a financial slap. So why don't they receive a fine then instead of screwing around players on their own network.

This will cost me several hundred Euro in VIP bonus money alone, never mind the fact that I cannot play there for the week, and the importance of player notes means there's a big difference between playing there and another iPoker skin. IPoker has punished players with this action. That is a very silly thing to do as I for one now have a problem with the network which I have never had before.

You cannot blame Ipoker at all. All skins were warned of the consequences of abuse of the network policy. If NOIQ had done what most other skins did and worked within the parameters set then this would not have happened. They have had plenty of notice about the measures that would be taken.

This is actually good for players in the long run. The difference between the skins will be customer service and other promotions which is much better than skins constantly out rakebacking each other until the business is not worth it.

Our loyalty scheme is the max that the network allows.

The difference between VIP and rakeback is that VIP bonuses cannot be calculated/quoted as a percentage of rake, they have to be points based.

this is a mild enough slap on the wrist and only comes after a number of warnings I believe... At least one site has been closed down permanently

I agree with Hotspur, what shortstack says he has a point too but i think that there are other ways to punish the skin and not the players, i think we all agree ipoker should have taken action but its a bit like forcing a football team to play behind closed doors for a match fixing scandal, yes they should be punished financially but why punish the fans that done nothing wrong. Maybe this was a last resort but i just things there is more fairer ways to deal with it and still hurt Noiq but i also understand ipoker must be tough to keep good competition between the skins without it turning into a rakewar

The odd thing is that the noIQ scheme is points based.

The only skin I know that is openly advertising a rake % is Blonde.
