Have they stopped making this version of the PS3 and what all do you need to connect to the internet with the PS3? I have a broadband account with wireless router. Can you start with that or is there anything else you need to buy.

    Cheers

Apparently the 60Gb has now been discontinued.
You don't need anything else to connect - Just put in the WEP/WPA password etc from your router into the PS3.

we stopped doing them in argos, alot of people annoyed with the lack of compatability of ps2 games.

Would it cost sony so much to keep making the 60gb and just reduce its price?

    i think ps3 is a serious flop

Dont tell me that I am trying to convince myself to buy it.

Is there a signifigant difference playing it on a HD t.v. Would a standard t.v. still look o.k?

Where would you buy a 60gb PS3 in Dublin?

They are really hard to get all over as they are discontinued now. If a shop has one in stock it will lucky but most are gone. Thats Belfast anyway I'd say the Capital is the same.

60/40 who really gives a ****??..... does anyone really want to play PS2 games on a PS3 when you dont have too??.... has anyone looked at a PS2 game since they got the PS3?... they look terrible and its not like any big name game will be coming out exclusively for it!..

so basically your down to memory..... unless your going to be loading your PS3 up with music and stuff like that the memory means nothing, you'd never use it all saving games!!

its not a serious flop, it was looking bad a while back but now its passing the rest out, its now cheaper then the XBOX, if you want built in wireless etc... you have to get the ''Elite'' for €450......... then you have online gaming charges of €60 a year to look forward too!!.

the major flaw was lack of games and there starting to come out now thick and fast!!

never played on a regular telly but i think it will just look like a PS2 game, you'd really want to look into getting a HD, its part and parcel of gaming now!!

I am still playing PS2 Games on it, its the reason I went for the 60Gb version. They do look better than on the PS2, cos the PS3 upscales it.

Yes I will defo be getting one as the PS3 is gonna be given to me as a christmas present. Wonder would you get much for a 28" t.v. and PS2 with games and controllers headset network adaptor. Probably not enough for a HD T.V.

I'm not to concerned about the backward compatibility, I have a PS2, and its tiny.

The 80Gb is the original US or Japanese one that wasn't released in Europe isn't it? They'd hardly bother going up a measly 20GB for a new version, it would hardly be worth it.

Right a question about the PS3's controller...

The one that comes with the PS3, is it wireless??

No, the US and Japan got the 60 and 20. The 20 is gone now. We never got the 20, only the 60.

The 80 first came out in Korea, now its in the US and Japan. The US won't get the 40, all they will have is the 80 once all the 60s are gone.

Sure at the end of the day if your not worried about USB connections, PS2 compatable and the card readers you can stuff a 250Gb laptop hard drive into a PS3 if you really want.

    Yes. Yes it is.

    Yes. Yes it is.

    Thanks
Is it hard to install when you first set up the PS3?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,372 ✭✭✭ongarite

    No.
You connect it to PS3 using the supplied USB cable once to register it with your PS3 and then it wireless from then on.

    Deadly

Is the PS3 complicated to set up in general?
Can you use it on TVs or have you to set it up each time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

For TVs its just a regular SCART connection, its the same as setting up a DVD player or VCR.

The PS3 has a higher standing against the Xbox ... It has no 3 red rings syndrome ... I'll be staying with Sony! And if I wanna play PS2 games, I'll take the PS2 outta the bottom press and use it!

Where it sits rioght beside my auld Commodore 64!!;)
