    HI,
I'm not very good with computers so I need some basic info please!
I'm using XP on a dell dimension 4200 desktop. Currently I'm using 56K dial-up with Perlico. I'm going to upgrade to wireless broadband. I think I'll need a USB wireless adapter??? because the computer's a few years old. Perlico want 50 quid for it. Will I have to fork this over or is it possible buy something that would do the same job for cheaper elsewhere? Somewhere in dublin say?

    Thanks.
    Paul.

You say you're getting wireless broadband. I take it you're getting broadband through your landline instead of dial-up. In this case, you'll need a router or a wireless router if you want to ditch the cables. If you're given a wireless router, you don't have to connect to it wirelessly -- you can run a cable from the router to the PC, provided you have an ethernet port. This port looks like a fatter version of a phone jack.

You can probably find a wireless adapter for less than €50 if you shop around.
