i saw a ufo on tv

although, on a serious note... does anyone have any clue what those lights were over mexico city a couple of years ago? there was like 12 of them in a semi circular shape in the sky.. pretty weird.

    --edit

actually, maybe it wasn't mexico city. but it was somewhere.

It's not possible to see them on Earth, considering the nearest star that could contain life is 84,000 light years away, and if they could travel at the speed of light, all sort of weird things start to happen.( look up Einstein's Relativity). Of course if they can overcome said problems, they must exist in a higher dimension, because then Time wouldn't be a problem but we still wouldn't see them because 5th dimension beings would be on a different plane of existance unless we get totally pissed and \or stoned at which UFO's and all kinds of weird wonderful things are very visible.:D

unfortunately it was just slow burning military flares.

looks pretty cool, whatever it is

but I don't see why aliens from another planet would build spaceships that look like they come from cheesy 50's sci fi

ok this DID happen in the USA: Palm Coast, Florida. about 50 miles north of Daytona Beach (thats a guesstimate)

    Time: early morning. about 5am.

now my moms an intelligent woman; but the one thing about her that still gets me is she SWEARS that about 15 years ago (rounded off) she was delivering newspapers, having to work 2 jobs, and at one point she looked up and saw this huge UFO. By the description she gave I imagine it had a radius of about 50 metres and hovered several feet above the height of the car, and remained stationary for several minutes before whizzing off.

Sadly, nobody else can corroborate this story :|

I still dont know what to make of that.

The same happened over mexico city during a Military parade with flypasts, Mexican AF Aircraft actually broke off from the flypasts to intercept.

I bought a book on UFO's in Ireland and a few interesting stories stuck out such as the sighting in Sept 95 in Co Cavan in which a UFO was involved with an Irish Air Corps Fouga Magister CM170 Light Attack Jet. One man was enjoying a night out with three friends at a popular nightclub in the Portmarnock area near Howth. After the club they were walking along the beach when they noticed and electric blue egg shaped object moving towards them heading out to sea, then as it disappeared out of sight they heard the noise of a fast jet following the object, they watched as an Irish Air Corps Fouga Magister jet crossed over the beach heading out to sea after the object, the jet was low enough for Minihane to make out its Irish Military Serial number.

The next morning he rang Baldonnel Air Base to ask about what had happened, the desk Officer knew nothing about any such activity so he asked to talk to a more senior officer, he was allowed to and was told nothing but he then decided to quote the Fouga Magisters Tactical Serial Number and the response was much more irate than before......

    Very interesting!

I suppose it seems that way, but there are UFO sightings all over the world. Mexico and south america has had loads of them. You probably just don't hear about the sightings around the world because other countries have less internet access/media coverage/ whatever.

but, no i don't think i've ever seen a ufo. although walking out of work the other day i saw this wierd blue streak across the sky that disappeared behind some houses. lasted only a split second tho, and i'd just walked out of the bright hall into the dark so maybe my eyes were just being wierd. :o

My Dad who is a Garda said he seen on about 15 years while he was working nights, his partner also seen it.
They were driving in their patrol car and saw a saucer shaped UFO fly across the sky.
I believe him because he's not the kind of man to ever tell a lie.

i've seen UFO's before... mostly lights being weird in the night sky. wouldn't go as far as saying they were aliens or a space ship or anything. just things that were unexplained.

i'd say most people confuse military projects for UFOs. the U.S. military have a lot of weird stuff in development, mostly UAVs, and half of it you'll never hear about such is the whole confidentiality thing.

well thats nothin!, once, i even got abducted! they were gonna anal probe me, but i said "look, a distraction", the alien fell for it, i knocked him out n escaped. jus nobody believes me :(

    :D

actually, this a little off topic, but does anyone recall a movie (bout 10-20 years old) where this family was in their house hiding from the aliens outside. then there was a red light or summit that floated around. the little daughter in the house took on a disturbing personality. at the end, the aliens kinda freeze everyone in the house, and leave. its all recorded on home camcorder. with intervening interruptions from real-life psychologists and theorists trying to explain whats happening. claimed to be a true story. wats it called???

gonna put this in movie form now aswell actually.

anyone interested in ufo's and ufo sightings should read The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark by Carl Sagan. It's not all about ufo sightings, but there'a few mentions... very interesting stuff.

Everytime you look up in the sky and see a plane flying, you are looking at a UFO. Unless you are an aviation expert with binoculars of course.;) So, yeah, I've seen a fair amount of UFOs.

Funny how spaceships turn up once science fiction writers start writing about them.

Here goes. Heading to my local shop one evening many years ago on my bike. Half way back home I realised I had forgotten something so turned and headed back.
While freewheeling down the hill towards the shop for the second time I spotted a greenish glow in the sky. There was no noise (ie a helicoptor) and it appeared to only be a couple of hundred feet above the ground.

At this stage I had pulled up the bike and was just staring at it.
A couple of seconds later it shot towards the mountains and disappeared from sight - Very very quickly!

Anyway got home and was kinda shaken up by it. Was only a cub at the time but remember it to this day!

    Suitably bored?

I find the topic interesting. I don't have a strong feeling one way or the other.

If there are aliens going for Sunday drives in Roscommon and in the US why would the military and goverment deny it? Do they want to keep the little green men all to themselves?

The alien in ET was like a family pet I suppose.

Sure did, me and five friends while out wondering around in the middle of the night when in college about ten years ago, we all saw these inexplicable blinding lights. We'd just done bongs loaded to the gills with seriously strong hydroponics but I'm sure that had nothing to do with it.

I saw a ufo years ago where I where a young lad me and some friends where out camping just outside of town.

We saw a light hovering on the horizon it would zip around in the distance then shoot off up into the air come back down, it was mad, then it looked like it was getting closer. We where having great fun because my cousin was there (he's a bit younger than us) and we where winding him up telling him he was going to be abducted. Then it got really close and we all **** ourselves and hid inside the tent.

There was a noise out of it like a low hum.

    1. to prevent widespread panic and doomsayers
    2. so they can get first dibs on the patents of any new technology found in a spaceship

the hotspot is supposed to be on the sligo/roscommon border near the town of boyle.

actually most of the ufo sightings in ireland occur in an area which arcs from north of Dublin Airport, i wonder what people are really seeing, planes maybe ;)

Has anyone ever seen lights in the sky over Wicklow? Well I have.

Eventually figured out that it was the army up in the Glen of Imaal using flares. Have to say though, it made me question my non-belief in UFOs for a while.

Funny how spaceships turn up once science fiction writers start writing about them.

Actually throughout history they were described as all kinds of things. From shields and chariots to space zeppelins.

I think that nowadays anybody who scoffs at the UFO phenomenon is ignoring the evidence. The disclosure project is in full swing, with hundreds of top class testimony, and I believe official disclosure is close.

With regard to the phoenix lights case, the object must have been massive. Huge silent triangles have been spotted all over the world (USA) especially, and the concensus among conspiracy theorists/UFO researchers is that they are government craft which use anti-gravity propulsion or some kind of electro-static lift.

Yeah, I saw a UFO. A metallic sphere (sun reflecting from it) shaped object in the sky.

Evidence? I've heard a lot about this disclosure project, thats the group that wants all hidden evidence of extraterrestrial life disclosed to the public. because apparently there are branches of the government that want to cover this up.

you know i bet its all a big conspiracy. one part of some governments hide the truth so effectively that it leaves other parts of government out in the dark, so much so that 100's of billions of tax payin money goes into the search for extra terrestrial life. The biggest step we will take will more than likely happen over the next 25 years, when we hopefully succeed at the first manned mission to mars. Im sure departments like NASA and ESA and Russian and Chinese counterparts are all a front for some money laundering scheme.

All those rover missions to mars were a complete waste of time, especially since there's already alien life visiting us, experimenting on us, flying around in their insanely advanced ships trying to investigate us while also trying to not be discovered by us. Well for all their advanced technology and enourmous intellect there not really doing a very good job when they light up there spaceships like christmas trees in an effort to evade human detection.

Well, when people are warring, shields turn up. In Christian countries, you get people seeing crosses in the sky during the middle ages. When Count Zeppelin et al start building zeppelins, people start seeing zeppelins in countries where zeppelins were not being built. People will see and hallucinate and indeed make up whatever they want.

Well, I've yet to be convinced by such evidence.
