OK i am completely new to this forum but I am just looking to see what people think of these courses, this may have been done before.

I have been out of fulltime work for a few months now and considering doing one as i dont really fancy resorting to the buildings or any thing like that. I was thinking about something like web design, but thats kinda beside the point, just wana know what are the pros and cons.

There are 2 things in particular i would like to know....

    1. Do employers have any issue with seeing this on your CV as opposed to having studied in a regular college?

    2. If the website says the course takes 6-9 months to complete, are they reffering to people in fulltime employment who cant devote all of their time to the course or would an unemployed person such as myself who would work flat out all day at it be in a position to complete it in a significantly shorter period of time?

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated and I also apologise if this has been covered before,

    Cheers...

Do you mean distance learning like Open University? If so, it takes some self-discipline to complete one of these courses, so I can't see it being a negative point on the CV.

6-9 months for a course . . . . sounds like you've been looking at doing something in Kilroy's College. Am I right?

Be careful. There are a lot of courses out there that are not accredited by any official body. If you're going to do a course then pick a reputable institution with properly accredited courses, otherwise you might as well just as well be doing the course as something to fill your time.
