    Hi,

I'm going to put in a new stud wall with a door frame in it. Wondering, is the frame holding the door any special type of wood. Persumably will have to be PLO and 2x4? Or do you buy door frames in chadwicks/woodies? Any information on the web about installing door frames?

    thanks,
    J

You can usually buy door frames as kits in a Builders merchants. There are different widths depending on the thickness of the wall which in your case will be determined by the thickness of plasterboard (presuming you are using 4 x 2 studs).

im building a house and instead of installing the frame and hanging thedoor i just bought the whole lot in one made up then its just a case of reading the level and fixing to existing wall/stud a lot less hassle and a lot easier
