According to myepisodes.com, my favourite shows at the moment have just about run their course.

    South Park - done
    Family Guy - done
    Heroes - 1 remaining
    House - 1 remaining
    Dexter - 3 remaining

I'm not particularly interested in Prison Break or Lost.

I like Sci-Fi though, and have never seen any of the BSG series. So I guess I'll get stuck into watching some of that.
    Any other recommendations?

I'm in the same boat as you. Chuck is meant to be good. I've just gotten the first 10 episodes of season 1. I haven't watched it yet though. You should try Jericho as well.

You could try Pushing Daisies or Reaper

I'd definately recommend BSG! I'd love to rewatch that stuff.

You mightn't have any interest in Prison Break, but I would recommend the first season at least. Its really good.

Apart from that, there's a really good British drama called Skins that I finished watching recently. 9 episodes only, but its pretty cool!

have you seen babylon 5? it's an oldie, but a goodie.

another show more people should check out is Samurai Jack, probably the finest cartoon ever made over here in the west. I'd put it on equal footing with cowboy bebop and berserk for pure awesomeness.

I'd like to throw out Psych, Medium (this is much better than "Ghost Whisperer") and if you like Samurai Jack (which is brilliant), I'd also suggest the cartoon Avatar, which is also awesome.

Thanks guys. Lots of interesting suggestions. I'll certainly be checking out the sci-fi mentioned, and will check out at least one episode of everything else.

    Keep the suggestions coming! :)

anyone planning to watch/re-watch bsg reason 1 is out in HD DVD at the start of december.

Id reccemend watching the shield. Its had 6 seasons so far and the 7th and final season has been filimed and is uneffected by the strike

Firefly - if you never seen it

Death Note - Im not into anamie but this is fantastic

i didnt see weeds or house in your list. Both amazing and both have had 3 full seasons

Actually if you have never seen shameless its worth watching, 3 seasons so far 6 episodes each and season 4 is out in 1 month on channel 4

Not sci-fi but what about sopranos?

The bestest thing in the world ever...imo....ever

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

na i watched all 6 seasons after it ended to see what the fuss was about, it was a very good show and several times i found myself staying up till 3am with only 4 hours before work watching sopranos, it was a great show but nowhere near the best because i could name 10 shows better

I presume you must have considered 'The Wire ' - best cop show ever, very enjoyable, takes a while to get into it.

    Journeyman
    Pushing Daisies
    Samurai Jack

    Justice League Unlimited

Sopranos is very good, not the best, but very good. Don't know if I'd put 10 shows ahead of it, The Wire certainly, maybe just that.

Shows at the moment that are well worth watching, if you're not already, would be Pushing Daisies, Life, Journeyman, Brotherhood and Spooks. Life, Journeyman and Daisies are all affected by the strike so no telling what state they'll finish in.

I must get in2 the wire, never heard a bad word about it.

Maybe not a popular choice but I really enjoyed 6 feet under when it was on.

Aint had much time 4 it since the first 2 series tho.

    Go.

    Battlestar Galactica
    House
    30 Rock
    Dexter
    Fr Ted
    Firefly
    X-Files
    Weeds
    Heroes
    Star Trek

Now if i could have them (but i didn't want to use things that didn't have running stories lines or cartoons but i wanted it to be fair for the first 10)

    The Simpsons
    Top Gear
    Death Note
    Family Guy
    South Park
The IT Crowd - since the first episode, was so happy when they got season 2, almost as happy as when i heard family guy would be getting season 4... .. .

I if i could have used them all i would have but it would be cheating

    Star Trek TOS
    Star Trek TNG
    Star Trek DS9
    Star Trek VOY
    Star Trek ENT

Now im not saying sopranos is bad it would defo be in my top 20 and i have watched allot of tv, i just think it is over rated and i had the pleasure of watching all 6 seasons one after the other because i never watched them as they where coming out because i had seen one or two and thought they where very good but that stage it was summer i was young so i wasent really at home watching TV, drinking was more fun so i decided to wait and watching the 6 seasons straight never having to wait for a episode was amzing and really enhanced my enjoyment of the show. Its a great show but is over hyped but the best episode was Pine Barrens ever show has one hell of a cracker and even tho sopranos wouldn't be in my top 10 i think that episode might be in there with other 9 amazing episodes

The Shield is approaching its 6th and final season. The first 5 seasons are well worth checking out if you like violent and dark tv shows... And for the record, it beats The Wire hands down.

I would have thought u meant shows with running scripts...but in that case u have a valid point imo,

although, imo, sopranos IS the best show ever.

Most of the old simpsons eps are simply genius.

    Dark place?
