Shirt vs T shirt

    Folks,

We are having a big debate in work about what women like men to wear out on the town - a nice T shirt or a nice Shirt. Personally I prefer a T shirt for 2 reasons - I think a shirt looks too formal on me / doesnt suit me, and when I hit the tiles for some midnight grooving, the T shirt is more comfortable.

    What do ye all think?

    Cheers.

I'm also a t-shirt man 99.9% of the time, whether I'm going out, at work or whatever.

Whatever suits you I suppose. As long as it fits properly and shows off your body in the right way its fine by me. A shirt over a cool t shirt is a good option too, I really like that.

I've to wear a shirt to work, so I prefer something more casual when heading out.

I prefer T-shirts, but my OH prefers me wearing shirts.
Are we just talking long sleeve shirts here?

Then there's the whole combo options:

Long sleeve T under short sleeve T
    Shirt over T
Shirt under T (weird, but I've seen it!)

Depends what type of night it is, if im just going to the pub i'll wear a T-shirt, but if im going clubbing i wear a shirt over a T-shirt, leaving the shirt open to show off the design on the T-shirt.

You can't beat a nice Shirt (LONG sleeve) over a nice T with the sleeves rolled up. I'm speaking as a man by the by;)

When going out for a nice dinner I prefer a man in a shirt

If going out for drinks then i dont mind which, whatever hes comfortable in but something that does look nice!

I much prefer shirts, they look much smarter than T-shirts.
My BF always wears a shirt when we go out and he looks gorgeous.

Is it your influence that has him in the shirts though?!

if I am going out I mostly wear shirts, either short sleeve shirts or long sleeved shirts with the sleeves rolled up above the elbow, if it is a long sleeve shirt it has to be a good quality shirt or it just looks like crap

I prefer a shirt mostly. A white one works great with jeans. It looks dressy in a Richard Branson kind of way.

100% depends on the ocasion and the venue. This weekend im going to gigs and clubs so will be Tshrts all the way but the next week I have to go to some trendoid bars so will wear a shirt.

Bought some really nice casual shirts recently though which are kind of doing the job for most places I would go. Also if I dont fancy a shirt I can dress up a TShirt by wearing a blazer with it.

What do people define as a nice T shirt. Folks in work are giving me mixed messages. Argh!

How about a T shirt with a funny caption on it? But nothing corny. Theres tons of crap ones. They worked well in Texas last year.

    Or something like these?

Some folks are saying a Polo shirt with Billabong splashed across the back of it looks best. I reckon these looked well cliched as loads seem to wear them.

    Votes please!

but usually its shirt over T

I wear a shirt and tie, proper pants and shoes in work, so my weekend clothes are the furthest thing i can find from it, ie, skate shoes( really really comfortable) not baggy but loose jeans, and small/medium sized tshirts, if i have to go someplace that absolutely requires i dress smartly, then i will. but shirts just remind me of work which is the last thing i want to think about on my time off.

On the woman front, i don't particularly care what they think of my dress sense i dress for comfort and warmth, not style.

Collar at all times for me.

'Most casual' that I'll be seen in routinely is a polo shirt. Generally a 'specialist' one, as opposed to a 'brand logo', such as "Armor Officer's Course" or "SiG-Sauer." instead of "Ralph Lauren" or whatever. Basically something representing my interests. On very rare occasions, I'll have a T-shirt with an unbuttoned long-sleeved denim collared shirt on top.

    NTM

Shirts in work, except Fridays :)
T-shirts the rest of the time, anything from a regular short sleeve type to baseball or sometimes the oul' shortsleeve over longsleeve combo. :)

    Depends.

I personally prefer to wear a long sleeved shirt. I train alot, have big arms etc and look like a poser in a t-shirt.

I like to look smart or smart-casual with a nice shirt.
