Smart076 VoIP server and web site have been down since last Friday 23rd. November. I'm not sure if it's a temporary interruption or if this service is gone for good. :(

I get the feeling someone has finally put it out of it's misery..it's been unloved and unmaintained since they went through their financial problems and got rid of the staff (including those who ran the VOIP side, I think).

They really should have a) notified customers and b) arranged refunds for those with credit (I'm pretty sure my old account had a few euro in there)

It brings me to the main Smart page now. I suspect it is dead.

This thread confirms that it is gone (probably for good). People seem annoyed, but it was only ever a Beta service, and the mods on the Broadband forum are saying that you can get a refund on any remaining credit.

My wife was using the Smart 076 for her home-based office, but when it became unreliable around the time of the Smart/Eircom switch-off issue, I opened a Blueface account for her, and had both services running on her Smart-supplied ATA. I suppose that we now have an extra line available for another VoIP service... :(

PS: Smart Broadband is still brilliant - 6MB/512KB and 1:1 contention for €45/month :)

Saw this coming months ago, was never a good sign when the smart voip forums filled up with spam, was only a matter of time after that

    Sad really, :(

Never mind, they're sticking with what they know, and they're doing it really well (I've no connection with Smart, other than finding the service really great).

Also, Blueface are the real VoIP specialists, and again, their service is great.
