COD4 conection problems

    not sure if anyone else get this , but i can't connect to any servers on COD4 i get waiting to connect then time out , i can see the servers and have a ping of 33 , but cant get on to any of them any ideas ?

    bring down console, i think the cmd is cl_maxreconnect change it from 10 to 50.. u will have a better chance of getting in..

    tried that and nothing still same problem , i dont even get the yellow text , about trying to verify Code etc just the waiting to connect , it hits 30 and Error Connection Time out , strange as it runs BF and all other games fine

    It maybe your ISP, there's a similar post regarding NTL and Quakewars over on the Quake board. Some ISP's have installed throttling software for torrent traffic, but it's also wrongly picking up game traffic as torrent traffic too.

    ISP is eircom, and i run torrents and they are fine so :S

    Try "cl_connectionAttempts 60" in the console. At least I think that is the command. Type "connectionAt" in the console and use the arrow key to go down to the connectionAttempts command and add 60.

    That should force it to keep attempting to connect after 10 seconds when it will stop by default.

    i have tried that as well , i'm at a lose to what is causing it , but new machine this week hopefully that will help

    Are you using a 3rd party router? Or the stock Eircom router?
