Foriegn Wii Consoles

    Wifes in South Africa on business and text me to say they have loads of Wii consoles over there. Told her I wasn't sure if it would work here or whether the games would play but she's gone ahead and bought it anyway.

    Will we have problems using it over here?

    my guess is it will be working ok here:)

    the booklet of the Mario Galaxy strangely say something about the South africa user would expect to be able to logon Nintendo EU website soon...and now the website is under construction...so...i think yes...high probability they have same PAL console as well...

    Looks like you are in luck, they are PAL. :)

    The only thing you might need is a power converter but that isn't a big deal.

    hey just wondering so if say i bought a gamin for the way in south africa will it play ok on an irish wii??

    Ya any game purchased within the PAL region should work fine.

    You'll need to change the mains plug as AFAIK they still use the big old round 3-pin plugs down there. But it's about €1.50 for one of them :)
