Setting up a charity

I've been thinking of setting up a charity for the last year now. I think the way charity works now is nonsense and won't solve anything.

If you could take the time to fill out this questionnaire it would help me greatly.

Please, at a minimum, answer to the bigger questions with a sentence.

    1)Do you contribute to charity?

2)If you do not contribute give reason(s)

3)What are the main factors you think that contribute to the continuing existance of 3rd world countries? Give reasons for you answer.

4)Can you see a time where the problems in the third world no longer exist, or do you think this is an inevitable, perpetual state?

5)If you contribute, do you know exactly where it goes and how much of your contribution is used for the cause you intend it to be?

6)Would you be prepared to give a very small amount of money every week to a charity?

7)Would you be willing to help me in the setting up/running of a charity?

Any other information and/or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Jack

First post and effectively looking for marketing research... hmm. As you say it's for a charity you're considering setting up I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and answer but I would appreciate more info about the charity you want to set up etc.

    1)Do you contribute to charity?
I volunteer with a charity and donate to that charity and have a few charities I've looked into that I'm prepared to donate cash to but I'm hesitant to give to many other charities.

2)If you do not contribute give reason(s)
The reasons are manyfold - often I believe charities can allow governments to shirk their duties to their citizens, rarely would I donate to a charity operating in Ireland. Others, unless I trust that nothings being skimmed by professional fundraising agencies and / or excessive admin costs, I won't donate to.

3)What are the main factors you think that contribute to the continuing existance of 3rd world countries? Give reasons for you answer.
Borders and protectionism. Free and Fair Trade is the answer to the third world's problems. The 'First World', however, are too greedy to ever consider this.

4)Can you see a time where the problems in the third world no longer exist, or do you think this is an inevitable, perpetual state?
Yes but not within my lifetime. Global Warming and the Oil Crisis will change the world in massive ways: borders and the state of the global economy could see some surprising reversals of fortune.

5)If you contribute, do you know exactly where it goes and how much of your contribution is used for the cause you intend it to be?
    Yes. I don't contribute otherwise.

6)Would you be prepared to give a very small amount of money every week to a charity?
Depends on the charity but probably not, I have enough Standing Orders coming out of my accounts already. I'm more one for donating when I can afford to.

7)Would you be willing to help me in the setting up/running of a charity?
    Again, depends on the charity.
