good question ..I'm yet to find a good source (one where you can possibly ask some questions about the right product for the job) myself.

The one time I needed some flexible glue like Sika in a hurry I ended up getting Automotive Sealant from Wuerth from a Laika dealer in Portlaoise.

The other question is what you need to do. Do your windows need bonding in or "just" sealing.

The best material for sealing apparently is something called "Dekalin" ...very soft and removable if needs be, yet a very good seal.

Unfortunately i haven't got an Irish source (or a good online one) for that either ..I got mine directly in Germany

I will be fitting the window from the outside (they are hinged at the top) so I just need to seal the hinge where it contacts the outside of the MH (to prevent fretting) and edge seal the top afterwards (to allow water run off). I might ring the suppliers of the windows and ask them to throw the right stuff and quantity in the shipment with the windows. They are coming from the manufacturer so they are bound to have it.

White would be best. Probably 2 tubes would do. I'll have to ask which one ask I don't know?

    Good man ! :)

Sika 252 (black or white) is supposed to be the really sticky stuff (for bonding on seams, roof racks, panels, cameras etc) and you can also paint it once it's dry.

Don't know the number for the more softer Sika for bonding in windows etc

will check in the a.m. on the ones we have - I know we have 212FC, the others I'm not sure about......I can attest that 212 is ungodly adhesive..........paintable etc too - we use building truck bodies.

You do realise, of course, that they do NOT come in 310ml tubes -'mastic tubes' - they come as 'sausages', and use an enclosed gun, either manual or pneumatic.........

I got some of the caravan one (Sikaflex 512 I think) from a guy advertising on eBay in UK last year. Think they ended up costing me €50 including postage for 4.

However - I did phone Sika in Dublin 01 8620709 and believe it or not they will sell to you direct by post if you can't find it locally - one tube if you want. Helpful crowd. Far as I remember guy said they did not stock the caravan specific one in Ireland but suggested alternatives - maybe 252?
Also - marine sources - like CH Marine or Union will have the marine Sikaflex - Sikaflex 291 - about €16 per tube. This seems to be the same spec as 512 BUT it may not be 100% UV resistant - I guess in marine applications it will not be exposed to the Sun?
Still - sounds like galwaytt has it sorted.
    Stick with it.

I have noticed that Sika recommend using a primer before the sealant. Has anybody used this?

Thanks 'buoy - should have remembered Buckleys - they've a good reputation. I've been over there 2 or 3 times but never got it right - were closing up or were on day off each time!

    Hi Guys,
bit late on this thread but "Renauto" on Dorset st in Dublin sell trade windscreen adhesive for about €15 a tube. Cant for the life of me remember the name, could be "gun n go" I used it to replace a windscreen in a Ducato last year, took just over one tube to do the job.
    keep well,
