well that's the best of the bunch IMO i think it definately requires a return trip in better weather possible the spring or summer.

    Be gentle please

They look a tad dark to mine eye.

The first is bad - it is blurry and badly composed and exposed.

thine eye needs a trip to specsavers!! :o
It's meant to be dark and mystical looking....the whole place is like that, all fairylike and 'woodlandy' (yes, I know that is not a word)...it doesn't look out of focus to me though...hmmm maybe it is my eyes....

very nice the 2nd and 3rd are great
Ever think about a sepia tone version?

I think the first one is shook, 1/20 sec at 44mm according to the exif. Tripod territory I think.

1 doesn't do anything for me, 2&3 have potential, I would work on the saturation and pulling up the greens and yellows.

I would suggest doing a search for Fensters forest green Lightroom preset.

    ^^ Agree ^^

No 2 could be really great with some PS or Lightroom work.

2nd one is great. As above, it could do with some work, but not t make it too much brighter, I think that would ruin it. You get the feeling that the bracnches would reach out and touch you as you are walking through

no. 1 would be a candidate for hdr I'd say - the whites don't appeal to me.

    like no.2 though!

When I was younger I used to imagine that the fairies lived in these woods.

I've kinda gone off the first one. the more I look at it the more I think I could've metered better and yeap I had a lack of tripod and didn't fancy lugging it about but next time I will.

Thirdfox What's hdr? I'm not confident enough to use ps yet. I'd prefer if I could calibrate the screen properly.

To my humble eye (and its very humble!) 1st one has that annoying blown out which is an accomplishment for an overcast day ;o) Perhaps try drop back the exposure compensation if you notice this in the future - you may be well aware already so sorry if i'm stating the obvious, but the camera's on board histogram feature can be great to see there and then how well exposed an image is and whether you are too dark, too bright, or rough percentages of each.

What do you mean "I *used* to think fairies lived in them woods" - of course they *do* !!! have you not seen Harry Potter!!!! - seriously 2nd and 3rd are like something from the forest in Harry Potter. i like the natural 'tunneling' effect captured. Just a suggestion but a tighter crop / better vantage point may work a little better on the images as the rock in number 2 and the tree trunk in number 3 distract from the composition (again in my very humble opinion). I agree that 2&3 look a little dark but that may be just my monitor.

    Hope that helps.

Yeap the road is still a nightmare you can't park in the car park area anymore. I'm guesssing it's because of the tracks of the wheelspins and what looks like hand brake turns. such a shame the few ruin it for the majority.
