Is it always the most recent P45 you have to give to a new employer? Im pretty sure it is but only hoping there is some way out of it. I started a new job yesterday, and they are looking for my P45 by end of week.

Only problem is I quit my previous job after only a week, and obviously dont really want my new employer knowing this. So my most recent P45 is from the week long place. Of course i also have 1 from my proper job before that, but doubt i can use that one sadly.

Is there any way i can avoid having to give them my P45 from that week long job?

You have to give the most recent one.

If you're started and they're taking your P45, i'd say dont worry about how it looks. Your manager's impression of you after a week is far more telling.

Give them the old one if you didn't hand it in to the middle employer. It will work out that you were on emergency tax for the middle job, the revenue will capture this, and adjust your tax for the new job accordingly.

You don't have to give it to your new employer. You can get give it to the tax office and get them to send out a new certificate of credits to the new employer as far as i remember. Thats all the employer needs the P45 for.
Give the tax office a ring and they'll sort it out.
