    Hey guys and gals,
    I have my 360 about a year and a half,
    i have never hooked to broadband,
    it freezes up every now and then but works fine otherwise,
    is there updates i need and what do i need to go on to xbox live

    AFAIK you can get the updates by going to xbox.com and burning the files there to dvd and put them in the 360 and update.

    The dashboard updates won't stop freezing unless its certain specific games where updates have been released to fix it.

    To go on live you just need an xbox a network cable (or wireless) and a broadband connection.

    Silver account is free, Gold is about €60 a year.
    Only difference is that gold lets you play you games against other on line.
    Both let you update the box and games and download demos trailers (i think?)
