Interview - The Waiting Game!

Bit of a should I contact them or leave it question ...

Basicially I sat an interview a while back and thought it went reasonably
Ok. The last thing they said to me was that they would get back to me
in around 2 weeks, and not to worry, they'd definately be in contact.
    This was 4 weeks ago.

So now I dont know whether I should contact them to see what the story
is, or just wait it out?

Any time I've went for jobs through agencies I had no quams about ringing
them up to check on things but I applied for this directly so I dont know
    what to do.

On one hand I want to know if I have the job but 2 recent letters are edging
me to wait. I got a letter today, from a job I applied (directly) to 2 months ago,
to say they had recieved my application and would be in contact soon. And last
week I got a PFO email from a place I had applied to, again applied directly, well
over 2 months ago (was not called for interview in that time)

Any ideas on how I should play this one out? Are companies generally slower at
getting back to direct applicants rather than agencies?

If they said two weeks and it's been 4, I'd call them. Just tell you were very interested in the role but you need to know what your current status is as you have other offers on the table. People do it to me all time . You're perfectly entitled to.

I posted a similar thread to this awhile ago: clicky!

I don't think your situation is that uncommon, in fact I think you have way more patients then most people (myself included).

I think you should call or drop them an email, for your own peace of mind at least.
