.bin files now opening with vlc??

    somehow iv managed to change how my .bin files open and they are opening vlc when they try to open.

    can anyone tell me the programe i should change it back to?

    VLC opens them because it plays KVCD etc.

    I'm stuck on Vista at the moment, but it's just a matter of command-click>open with>choose your application and tick the 'always open with...' box, isn't it?

    or just in the Get Info panel (command + I) you can set what a particular file opens with and make it ubiquitous...

    oh ye i know how to change it i just dont know what programme i should change it to as now when i download, for example the messenger for mac update it jsut open vlc and nothing happens so how do i get it to run the actual update?

    I'm not sure if disk utility can handle .bin files, so you could try that. If not, I'm sure Toast will mount them.

    depends whats in the .bin file :)

    Stuffit can deal with it, if it's an archive
