How much should a decent Pianist be paid for playing in a decent Hotel on a usual evening?

And how much for Christmas Eve?

    Thanks!

Hi Michael. There is no set union rate. You could get a very cheap player at around 100 euros. These guys tend to be poor players, very old etc etc. If you want someone decent to do a good 3 hour set, you are looking at at least 200. If you are interested in work or are looking for a player, get back to me.

200 would be reasonable enough for a good three hours.

    especially on christmas eve!

An immigrant lady who is not old and is a fairly good piano player with a higher education is looking for work in Co. Limerick. She's getting certain proposals and asked me to evaluate rates for her. Googling didn't help so I asked here.

She does have a limit that may be important in the hotel industry - she doesn't like to do karaoke on-demand stuff, preferring well prepared programmes with scoresheets; and she really does a good job preparing them. She would fit in very well (and is experienced) as an accompanying player for singers or instrumentalists, but neither she nor I have any idea on where to look for work like that.

I'd be thankful for ways to get more proposals for her; any hints would be appreciated :) For any details etc. you can of course PM me.
