Councillor calls for legalisation debate

    'Galway City Councillor Billy Cameron has called for legalisation of cannabis to be openly debated, saying that many people could benefit from a change in the current law.' (Galway Independent, 21 November 2007)

    Anyone see this story? What do you think?

    I can't see that Galway City Council would have that much sway over government policy in this area (or any other, tbh), but I'm glad one of our representatives is raising the issue.
