Hi All, I'm interested in getting a horseriding weekend away as a pressie for my wife. She spent a weekend at Annaharvey a while ago and has talked about it ever since. We are in the Dublin and I would reckon anything within a one and half hour drive would suit. She doesn't own a horse and beginner to intermediate level. Any suggestions. thanks in advance

Blair castle in wicklow. Took my girlfriend there. Beautiful house to stay in and friendly people and nice horses. What more could you ask for? Does your wife hunt? A hunting weekend could be great too!

Theres also Castle Leslie in Monaghan, I haven't been myself but i hear good reports! Theres a lovely looking hotel and also a spa so she can do a bit of pampering after a long day in the saddle if she feels like :)

Ross House is also supposed to be very good. Contact details are in the other thread.

I heard v bad recent reports about castle Leslie from a friend who went. Its horrifically over priced and you get to do very little when riding.

I can recommend crossogue equestrian in Tipperary I went there for a weekend and it is lovely - same sort of farmhouse theme as Annaharvey.
