    Hello Folks,
I'm looking to start/join a band in the greater Dublin area.

Influences: Pre-Troublegum Therapy?, Sonic Youth, Helmet, Metal from about 1981-1995 (though I don't want to play metal), Post-Rock, Indie/Alt music in general.

Interested in: recording, gigging and rehearsing once a week.

Not interested in: doing anything radically different, working hard, getting anywhere in the 'industry', getting signed, making it, making money, potential A&R interest, band managers, having pictures taken, acoustic guitars, singer-songwriters, playing covers or getting into hotpress.

Top of the list of things needed would be a Guitarer (must not use a pod) and a Basser (must be able to dance) or another drummer and I'll play guitar. I have half a song written and about six other usable riffs. So if anyone is still interested at this stage let me know.

so you dont want an acoustic player, or a guitarist with a pod

would you be interested in an air guitarist?

    ive got great moves

Yeah an air-guitarist might come in handy. You could play the silence between the songs.

(the guitarist can have a pod, I have one. I just think they sound appalling through amps and require far too much between song fiddling).

maybe the problem is with the player, rather than the pod?

To my ears seperate effects pedals offer greater and quicker control of tone. I just would not get on a stage with a player using a pod or similar. agree to disagree?

    Hey dude,

I'm lazy but i can play so it might work out. I'm comfortable in most situations./ At 29, i'd imagine you are proficient enough on drums or even guitar (you mentioned you played it). i dont own a POD but i just bought a boss me-20 which is a handy little box. Got own gear (no transport but live in city centre.) Not committed to a band at this moment.

    Cheers,
    Mick

    Hey Pete,
I'd be interested in this as a side project. Nothing serious, just a bit of early 90's fun. I play bass. I try to do backin Vocals sometimes. My sound on bass is influenced by early Therapy?, Violent Femmes, The Cure, The Stranglers etc.
