Extension Options

    Hi all,

Planning an extension early next year to a bungalow.. Looking at converting attic to two bedrooms as well as adding on to the back of the house to enlarge kitchen and living area..

I don't think direct labour will be an option as we have young children and need the extension done as quickly as possible with the minimum of disruption (I accept there will be quite a bit of disruption)..

Is it worthwhile getting a QS on-board for a project like this and sourcing material myself and then letting a builder cost solely the build? I'd imagine it's more of a buyers market than it has been in quite a while..

My brother is doing something similar to this at the moment. He is using direct labour and pricing everything himself.
