    Hi Folks,

have just received an excellent price from a UK based company for the equivalent of the PV70 (except the analogue tuner), the PX70. This includes the same 5 yr guarantee, that is being offered here in Ireland. When I spoke to my local shop, to give him the chance of matching or at the very least dropping his price I was told a few things.
    He told me that:
    1. I was open to receiving a VAT bill from the revenue, if I ordered from this company? Is this true? I thought that once we are in the EU that there was the free exchange of goods across borders and stuff?
    2. He also told me that 5 yr guarantee would be void as the TV would be coming to Galway from the UK, well in fact NI. Does anyone know if this is also true?

Jaysus but am rightly confused :confused:
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Scobius

    Dont think so.
My thinking on the process is as follows. The VAT is only relevant if you are registered for VAT with the revenue. Hence when you are ordering the product and can supply a VAT number for your business, (if you have one) and the seller will not charge you VAT on the product. You then pay this VAT yourself on your by-monthly returns for Good's purchased outside Ireland.

If you are not registered for VAT in Ireland, the seller is responsable for charging you VAT on all sales which is the case in most situations.

What price did you get for the screen?
