Lost the NTL decoder box, what to expect?

I moved out of a house early in the summer and as everyone else was moving too, I kept the NTL TV/broadband package in my name at my new address. I remembered to bring the modem along but stupidly forgot the decoder box at the old address. I don't actually own a TV so I didn't miss it til now. (Yes, I know paying for TV/broadband when I only needed broadband was a dumb thing to do).

Now its time to cancel the NTL subscription and I don't know if I'll be able to get the decoder box from the old address. Will they come down heavy on my ass?

I'd ring right now and find out, but don't have the account number to hand.

Don't worry about it. We cancelled our digital recently, and asked what to do with the box and they simply told us to keep it - they don't want them back

i left 2 at my old address and have 1 here.
    all subs were cancelled.

i dont think they currently have a process in place for customers to return the boxes.

That's an absolute disgrace. If I cancel I don't want the box, I'd expect them to take it back. It is their equipment after all.

afaik they can take boxes back.
its just not part of the cancellation process.

if you really want rid of it you just package it up and post it to the usual address
