Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary in Co Galway last night.

They say two men wearing balaclavas entered a house in Ballard East, Barna at around 9pm and demanded money from the owner.

One man was armed with what is believed to have been a firearm.

A man and a woman who were in the house at the time were tied up and the man received head injuries.

Iirc Ballard east is the road that is behind Barna Woods, i.e. its entrance is directly across from the road down to Silver Strand - but don't quote me on that. Serious amount of burglaries the last while in Moycullen, wonder if it's the same ****ers.

The news on this has dried up very quickly.
Starting to wonder did it happen at all?

The victim is reported to have been hurt. I can't imagine why anyone would have beaten him up; I worked for him years ago, and he is a very gentle man.

I really hope that the people who did this are found, and found quickly.
