Am I understanding your post correctly that you need 3k? Just go to any bank and they'll be happy to loan it to you.

I've done 3 long term trips. Each time I got a loan with AIB. Just explain your situation to them and they will arrange for you to make repayments when you come back. Once I had a set time to make repayments but the other times I only had a vague idea of when I would be back so it was up to me to go into the bank when I came back to sort out a start date for repayments. When I went to Australia for a year I was just out of college so my parents had to go guarantor but no problems apart from that. Clear your current debt and about a month before you go, go into the bank to sort it out. I even got a loan top up when I was in Oz, with my parents sorting it all out this end. The advantages of living in a small town!! Banks are well used to people needing this sort of loan
