    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/tvradio/programmes/earthpoweroftheplanet/page1.shtml

The two videos that are here

    Clip1: Abseiling into a volcano

Clip2: Scuba diving between two continents

You are give the option of playing them in Windows media player or in real player.

SDPReceiver can downlaod Windows Media files (asf/asx etc) download it here http://sdp.ppona.com/zipfiles/SDP_v2_3_0.msi

ASF Recorder does the same, also freeware - http://yaan2.linux.net.cn/index.orig.htm

    Start SDP,
    Setup>Setup options>Protocol tab

Try a different protocol: eg. HTTP instead of TCP.

It works fine for me then. The current version of SDP, does not try
all the protocols to find one that works. It only tries the single
protocol that is selected in the tab.

changed to HTTP - now getting unknown content type as error ???
it says content type html/ text
Do i just cut and paste the address from the address bar into the SDP open box?

have you tried the same page and does it work for you?
What version of SDP do you have?

    nope, only windows media files im afraid, for realplayer try mass downloader - http://get.esellerate.net/get/est.aspx?est=7V716MQFXCQ&at= {trial}

i've never used this though, you may have better sucess with this? you could also try wm recorder ( http://www.wmrecorder.com ) meant to include that one originally, this allows saving of windows media and real files, quicktime etc.

no you need to put in the exact asx address. you'll get this by viewing the properties of the video (right click on video frame>properties)

to be honest it's not the easiest program to use, i'm just so used to it now. try wm recorder trial, or mass downloader and see how you get on.
