Had an interview for a youthreach resource teacher position with VEC on Friday afternoon. Went ok, answered some questions well, others could have been better. Just wondering how long to wait generally to hear if you have been successful, and by what means usually, telephone, letter.

Usually letter from either the school or the VEC themselves, could take a week or so but theres no definite time range to be honest. Best of luck

New positions are ratified at the monthly Committee meeting.

Depending on which VEC it is, these meetings are usually in the last week of the month.

The normal method of contact would be by letter, though people can be told face to face if they are already working in a centre.

I got a phonecall on the same day as the interview but then, the interview was less than a week before the start of school, so I imagine they just didn't want to waste any time.

Some principals etc won't ring you as they will wait for official channels to contact you. Spurious is right about the VEc meeting, most are end of month meetings

Thanks for your replies. I had given up yesterday when I hadn't heard anything, but just got a phonecall today to offer me the position. Am delighted.
