Anybody else still waiting for their grant?

The whole grant system is a big joke!

There are 3 weeks left in this term and I haven't seen a cent of the government grant that was given to me! Thankfully I'm still living at home, but other students depend on this grant a lot more than I do!

    Something has to be done!

I know the Student Union has been protesting, but there has to be something more that can be done!

    Is anyone else still waiting?

Best thing to do really would be to contact the Council yourself tomorrow to find out. Different Councils have differing levels of efficiency in the admin of the grant system. There's a grant noticeboard in front arch which has the dates of when some of the grant cheques have arrived in. If your Council has a date beside it, wander into Student Records to find out if it's been delivered there.

What's your suggestion for improving the system? Honest question.

Improving the system, I think they just need to speed up the application process.

If this means hiring more people to process the applications, then I don't see what the problem is.

Maybe they could accept applications earlier so that they could be processed on time.

I've sent an email, so hopefully I'll get some kind of response.

Thats really **** that you havn't got your grant yet. I'm not sure how common it is to have to wait so long. I always hear things in media or online about it taking too long for the grants to come through. But this is my fourth year getting a grant and I have never had any delay in recieving mine. I'm always quite surprised at how quick it arrives. Maybe its just my county council but I have been very happy with the whole grant system from day one. I don't see why the student union would be protesting at all. But maybe I've just been lucky

Do you just wander into student records and ask them if your grant has arrived, the thing is that the notice board under front arch says that they've arrived from my county council but when i ring them, they say that they're still processing MINE.

I suppose I'll just go into student records tomorrow and find out?
