    You'll need a new fascia and also an adaptor kit as the Fiesta radio cables aren't compatible with the ISO ones. I got both on ebay for about €10 for both (would have cost me about €20 each in Halfords). The hardest part is getting the old radio out. Ford sell a set of metal hook things for pulling it out. You can improvise your own, but it can be fairly tricky (I tried loads of things, until eventually bits of an old garden rake did the trick).

    Cool, I just don't want to wreck anything in it. I'll see how much Halfords charge for installation, if it's too much I'll try myself.

    Could you just replace the radio/tape unit with a radio/cd unit off eBay?

    Maybe, I didn't know that they made cd players to completely fit the size.

    It would be worthwhile getting halford's to do it, rather than risk damage to the dash/console. The cable may cost a €20 but your getting a free installation from experienced people.

    I'm pretty sure that some cars came with a cd/radio from new. Have a look at this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-6000-RDS-CD-PLAYER-FIESTA-ESCORT-FOCUS-MONDEO-ETC_W0QQitemZ250189540060QQihZ015QQcategoryZ75320QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    As mentioned you can get a Ford one from ebay (6000 CD) which is a simple replacement - nothing else needed- takes about 1 minute to fit - trust me you can do it yourself. - its plug and play PM if you need any help

    Or else you can get a normal size radio but then you need a ISO connector and a facia adapter.

    I would go for option 1 . (i retro fitted one to my old fiesta before I sold it one) - I just think that way looks neater.

    Definitely the easiest option. No need for dash panel inserts/adapters or extra wiring looms.

    Thanks for that, I'll go on ebay and try get one. Is there any chance that I'd pick one up over here in a shop or anything no? Is it just the old type or will the new one like this fit too?

    Its the older type (not from the new focus). it will have a circular dial for volume.

    like this one =>

    Not sure if breakers have them over here - I think only later model ghias had them as standard. As mentioned on ebay you should pick one up cheap.

    6000s have been around since at least '97 - the earlier ones had buttons for the volume control. The same series of stereos were used in Mk. I Focus and most other Fords from that era (Transits too). There seems to be at least 3 different colours.
