Why not buy off a domestic retailer instead of going to all the hassle?

i would strongly recommend you buy locally for a series of reasons
    1. its christmas and anything over 1mm by 1mm will get the kybosh by customs, it happens every christmas.
    2. if you buy abroad you need to ensure it is not over 1j and lots of them are and when you goto play anywhere now they test your aeg. Paul is very strict now and if you are even just over, you wont be allowed play. they only way to fix your aeg is to gut it and since you are starting off its not a nice thing to have to do...coupled with you are holding an illegal firearm, not an aeg anymore
    3. you have a great choice now locally and this isnt like the uk, the price difference between here and abroad is very small
    4. the supplier is taking the risk for that fee-- and it seems like a fair swap to me
    5. you have comeback with the local suppliers, i have been blessed so far with luck in aeg's but they are not made by god, so you can get a lemon -- a lot of the sites will accept them back at your shipping cost (blasting you way over the initial saving) and a lot of them will tell you how to fix it yourself (not nice), and some will just not reply at all (terrible).
    6. if customs happen to redirect even legal ones, its goes into the black home in garda hq...ask lethal on the latest on his galaxy mp7, he must be 6 or 8 weeks waiting to find out where it is and that fires at 240fps way way under the 1j limit
    7. if its even slightly over 1j..the gardai will crush it as its illegal.

i would learn from others here and buy local. a lot of us here who have bought abroad were forced to because there was no choice before...you can get anything legal now here in ireland...

    whatever you choose, good luck.

    Ehh, one sec....

09/24/2007(US date System) at 8:17 A.M my MP7 got "THE SHIPMENT IS BEING HELD BY BROKERAGE FOR REASONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL / DELIVERY RESCHEDULED ". Since then, nothing, Nada. Zilch. Lethal is not a happy camper. So, it at all possible buy locally, even if that means requesting for them to stock an item and waiting for it to come with the next delivery.

Have you not being making UPS's life a misery Lethal. If not do so, get the name of one individual in there and stalk them until they sort something out for you. If they blame customs get a name from them and repeat action A. Unfortunately its the only way you will get to the bottom of this mess.

As I said before I would never use UPS as a shipping option for anything Airsoft related.

Yeah, i called them up a few times. They all said its gone to customs. And they said there was money due(Vat and duty probably) and that customs would contact me! I have received no correspondance. Then a friend who was in the buisness found out they had been shipped to the Park. Was thinking of writing to the Park, but dad says complaining to the gards will do no good.

Brainwave, we have a few gards that play. Any chance they could ask around and see WTF is going on?

    Cheers,
    Lethal.

Well my view on this is UPS were contracted to deliver the goods to you and you probably paid a hefty price for them to do so. Therefore I believe it would be up to them to find out what the problem is. Go after them, get a name and sit on them until they start to find out where it is, when it will be released and what the additional costs would be.

Also put pressure on the etailer as well and let them know the problems you are having and you will be loathe to recommend them to anyone else given the problems you have had.

The retailer should be the first person contacted as it is THEIR responsibility to get the goods to you, not the shipper. I know that sounds ridiculous, but its the case.

Ehh, did that twice, no reply. Probably doesnt even understand:p Engrish is what Keith of rsov.com speaks! Somebody said he was gonna foward documentation ages ago. Did that happen?

From the dealings I had with Keith I found him very good at trying to sort out situations that arose.

Given that its been over 2 months I find the number of contacts you have had with them to be very low. If you want it sorted you need to be nearly stalking all the players involved unless of course you have conceeded that you will never get your AEG?

Well i sent two emails and when i got no response i thought he probably didn't give a sh1t or was too busy too. I'll email him again. And no, i havent given up, I earned that in doing well in my JC so F#ck them if they think they can take whats rightfully mine:mad:

When I had my issue with him and it was minor compared to yours he got multiple emails a day to all email addresses I had for him. I'm afraid these days its the people who make the most noise that get sorted. The reason I do this is from experience.

I have worked in IT for the last 15 years. I have imported a lot of equipment for clients from the US and the Far East. You will always have hitches like the most recent one, we ordered parts from Japan that had a 6 week leadtime, the shipper lost them. We basically read the riot act to the distribution company and either they found or they sourced them somewhere else but we had the parts with our client 4 days later.

Moral of the story sit on them until they sort your problem out.

If you we're to order something off a retailer online and asked them to chrono the guns and put a little note in saying that they are 1 joule or under would it get them past the whole inspection thing?
