    :Dwww.ibood.com
?29.95 each with delivery @ ?12.50 (if you buy two p&p is free on the second one).

This phone has great reviews. Bought four for myself and for Christmas presents. I checked prices online and it's about half most best prices.

edit: the price is actually 24.95 yo-yos :D

i've done the same bought one for myself and one for a Christmas present.

Ibood delivery can be crap. The only thing I bought off them arrived within a couple of days but alot of other people on here have had bad experiences.

Bought one myself earlier this morning too, bought a TV from them before and had no problems with delivery.

Nice one, just got 2 of them. Will come in very useful.

Bought one - looks good. However, noticed in their T+C, they do not deal with Ireland, but yet have a delivery charge for Ireland?
Also, glad to see they use Verified with Visa - gives more confidence for myself

Note that this phone still needs a PC running Skype to make Skype calls, it's not like the Philips one that connects independently. Just thought you should know.

Rashers, where did you see that? I did a search for Ireland in their T&Cs and got no results

After a second look I understand how you reached that conclusion. There are 17 countries listed in the market section of the T&Cs. If you go to their main screen there are 19 countries listed. The 2 extra are Austria and Ireland. I guess they expanded to these markets but didn't update the T&Cs accordingly.

True, and I should have mentioned it. This has one advantage and one disadvantage:
    - Pro - means there is less processing being done by the phone, thus extending battery life on the handset
    - Against - PC off = no Skype calls - but then that can also be an advantage  .
Not an issue for me though cause I have a home server on 24/7 doing my home security, media streaming server, FTP server and now Skype presence.

I just plan to use it as a normal phone for skype. I have pc running when I'm at home so its perfect for me

Sickened that I missed this. The two occasions I haven't checked ibood lately have been the only times they've had anything that I wanted :(
Anyone know of any other decent bargains on these phones or similar ones?

Received my phone yesterday. Only received one 2 pin to 3 pin adapter, yet it requires 2 adapters to run it. Anyone else have the same problem?
2 other connections (5 pins?) included, which I assume are meant for other countries.
Delivery was slow, but at least they send me an email to advise of delay.

Yep mine arrived two days ago, havnt opened the main box yet as I ended up getting one for nothing from a guy in work. One 2 pin to 3 pin adapter included with it though.

Same here. Bought 4 sets, four adapters. Not much of an issue though. If you push the top (neutral) hole of the socket with a pin (more recent sockets), the European plugs fit in Irish sockets.
Problem for me is there is no support for Windows 2003 Server, so i will need to migrate my server to Win XP to get the Skype working.

I gave one to my brother and he has it up and running.

    Nice set.

Thanks lads - stuck the 2 pins in, and it charges fine! Rang the US via it, and line quality was excellent. Must say, a real bargain! Boards.ie does it again!

    Sorry lads to bother you.

I've got two phones and I cant get it to work.

I'm running Vista and got the latest drivers from the USRObotics site and it wont work. All it does is keeps saying connecting to skype but never actually does and doesnt run. Any one have any ideas?

When I connected it up, and rebooted, it stopped the pc booting up, advising me to contact the PC manufacturer. Sounded bad!
Anyhow had a neighbout look at it, and he googled the error message. Someone else with a new USB connection was getting a similar error message. However, when the unplugged the hardware connected, it booted fine. Same with mine. You can then connect up after booting up, and it works fine.
Neighbour suggested new driver be downloaded from US Robotics.
While it won't solve previous VISTA issue, might help someone else.

Found a way to install WinXP apps on the server 2003 that involved hacking the msi files.... hard to figure that one, but great once done. ;-)

How does Ibood work. I just logged on and am trying to order the phone. The product is not sold out.

Where is the order button. How does it work?????

    Thanks

iBood is one of those strange concept websites that sell one product a day, and just that. In other words, you could only buy the phone the day it was advertised.
I know it sounds crazy that you can't buy a product that didn't sell out, or that you can't buy anything from them for the rest of the day if the product sells out, but this seems to instill a sense of urgency on regulars that makes them quite successful.
