What podcasts do you listen to while you work at your PC or out with your mp3 player? I have come across quite a few I like. Some like story telling - Psuedopod (horror) and Escape Pod (Sci-fi) while others like the Lug Radio show review/discuss linux. Curious to know what podcasts you regularly listen to?

Well anything you like... some of my non-computer mentioned above are PseudoPod (a horror story podcast! Excellent!) and Escape Pod (an excellent sci-fi podcast). Another one to boot is an astronomy one.

Any chance people can give a brief description of what the podcast is like and maybe a link?

Great thread btw. Was literally thinking this morning that I should listen to some podcasts on my walk to work.

Twit and Windows Weekly are part of the Leo Laporte netcasts - Really good if you want tech news etc. Windows weekly with Paul Thurott is good for Windows news. And Twit is a good show about weeks technology news and its usually a bit of a laugh.

http://www.twit.tv/ is where you'd get more...

I'm a bit NFL mad so that why I get the ESPN Football today podcast - I tend to get the fantasy league one aswell.

PC Gamer(American) and Custom PC are pretty good - Based around the magazines and are very good for gaming tech and well games...

Diggnation is Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht sitting on a couch, drinking beer, and talking about some of the interesting stories in Digg. I don't even use Digg and I find it interesting and a good laugh - I get the quicktime one cause I have a iPod touch. Its interesting looking at Kevin Rose cause the mans a millionaire and he doesn't really look like it... But still a great laugh.

Systm is another tech video podcast based around projects and things - This month they're building their own MAME station so its pretty interesting. Only problem is that its too short and leaves alot out.

    Another Windows Weekly fanatic here.

Macworld is good for keeping in tune with what's happening in the world of Mac.

I only have one podcast that I'm subscribed to on itunes - used to listen to it when I was travelling aboard - it's called The Craic with Ian Dempsey. It's for Irish people living abroad. It's fun.

Russell Brand's podcast from BBC, accessible through iTunes, tis very very funny oddball humour but I enjoy it.

    The economist podcast
    Time business podcast
A few of the BBC ones are great - science in action, business daly, and the odd Jonathan Ross/Russel Brand here and there

I started getting into podcasts because I didn't have time to read the economist any more, but I do spend an hour each morning and evening sitting in my car in traffic so they're great! I don't have links to each one but i found them just by searching in itunes.

I must give some of those tech ones a look in, mine are a bit too business heavy!

    The Arseblog podcast.

I've struggled to find any other podcast which has even been half as good as the Arseblog podcast. Podcasts can be hard to get into as sometimes they go way off topic and you find yourself bored out of your mind within seconds.

You'd be a long, long time trying to find the Ian Dempsey podcast on the RTE site.

I listen to this. Found it ages ago and just subscribed to it. Orla Rapple is on it as well which is great to hear - I always though she was such a bubbly person to listen to when she was on The Full Irish with Tubridy - great to see her back on the airwaves (kinda). What does she do now. Anyone know? Anyway back to the topic! The Craic is quite good. It's interesting to here Iano doing something that's not Gift Grub. But I do love Gift as well!

To add another one to the list that I picked up recently:

The Bugle - Audio newspaper for a visual world - hilarious comedy news podcast (á la the daily show). It's about an hour long, once a week. I would highly recommend it! http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/audio_video/podcasts/the_bugle/

Most of the tech podcasts on twit.tv (security now, the tech guy, this week in tech, windows weekly, macbreak, giz wiz, roz rows, net@night).
Cranky Geeks which is more tech news.
No Agenda not tech, very random, but always interesting.

This American Life, just download it through itunes store. It's done by NPR and just takes random topics split into 3 segments over an hour long show. It's usually a simple theme but they manage to source amazingly interesting guests, normal people with fantastic stories. They have guest journalists who do segments too, really good one last week by Jon Ronson.
I'm also oddly intrigued by the i104 Tommy and Hector one. One of those ones that's so all over the place you kind of feel like you're witnessing a really drunk chat between the two boys. Their utter lack of professionalism makes it worth a listen (I understand that sounds like rubbish but have a listen and you'll understand). I'm not normally a fan of either of them but the podcast's good.
Best for the funnies is Adam and Joe's Podcast. Possibility of wetting yourself on the Luas has to be accepted when pressing play though.

Baseball Tonight - Great ESPN show, 15 mins daily
    Economist, FT podcasts
Dyl-Time Theme Radio Hour - a tribute to Dylan, this is essentially an hour on a different theme all related to Bob. Some great rare tracks / rehersals etc.
