i have a mini dish, just need reciever and card

i already have a dish aimed at 28e for the sky network. can i ring sky up and order a reciever and card etc without having an engineer coming? I was told i have to have the whole lot, Dish, reciever etc all installed by engineer? Is it not possible to do a self install?

just let the installer come, he will be delighted he has no work to do.
