How much rake have you paid this year?

If you mostly play online, you probably have a good idea how much rake you've paid, or can work it out. If you play live, you should know what rate you pay per hour, multiplied by about the number of hours you've played.

Don't include money that went to a bad beat jackpot, or tips. If you have rakeback, ignore that for the moment. How much rake have you paid in the first 11-odd months of this year?

Are you counting tournaments entry regs?

Anyway, I have paid around $4500 in rake this year

do you include online rakeback ? I got almost $5000 rakeback from one site alone so do i exclude this?

do include tourney vig. Do include rake that you later got back (rakeback, bonuses, FPP stuff, freerolls, whatever). So if you paid one site $15k in rake and got back $5k, count it as $15k and convert that into euro at today's rate, about 0.68, for the poll.

I voted for 50-100k but on reflection and on seeing how far the dollar has sunk, I think it is more like 40-45k euro.

In the region of $40K. Man when you see that down on paper it's a helluva lot of money.

I pay around $4500 in rake a month, took two months off tho, so about 40k?

I could look it up but i'd have to go through a couple of databases and i can't be bothered.

actually, on reflection it's a lot less, i hit 4.5k when i played to much, it's probably more like 3k on avg.

plus I'm going by what my rb provider says I've generated, which is at least 25% higher than the figure pt gives.

I'm some where around the 50k mark i think.....

the 50-200k category is too broad I think.... I voted the 10k to 50k bracket

and ive given 500 to the Bad beat jackpot on Party. Such a waste, have stopped playing jackpot tables

yeah ive seen that before and ages ago read an article which showed how they can be more valuable than rakeback but its before i started playing properly, it certainly isnt much imo for eg 70fpp gets you entry to a 10pplayer turbo to win 10bucks so basically 70 fpp is $1, to earn 70 fpps i need to pay 14$ in rake thats 7% rb....wait hang on a second that aint too bad i suppose ignore me! i really shouldnt waste those fpps so easily in future!!!:)

I so much prefer rb over stars fpp.

Just wondering if there was a particular reason behind Op's post and poll. When you think about it the guys playing Medium stakes and higher are paying umpteen times more in fees than the micro stake guys, I can't see that it would cost umpteen times more to administer our accounts though.

On the other hand some poker sites have gone belly up, so it mustn't be exactly the goldmine that one might think it would be given that many of us have paid over an average year's salary in rake.

Still these are frightening sums of money, if I wasn't paying them I'd go from a reasonable winner to a major one. Over the years i've played online poker, I've probably paid enough rake to buy a top of the range sports car and still have change left over and that's with deducting rakeback.

no particular reason, but I do think it's something most people don't think about enough.

just something I noticed a while back in some of the rake races on i-poker.... I pay about 5k per month on average now playing mainly 1/2 with some 50/1 thrown in.... I see players playing 2/4 and 3/6 playing similar ammount of hands to me seem to be paying about 6.5 K and not double what I pay... is this due to rake cap?

I would think almost definitely to do with rake cap. I checked what I was paying in rake and it was only marginally higher per hand in 2/4 than in 1/2

2/4 players are definitely paying alot more rake. Not even close.

Paying more for sure, nowhere near double though.

i was wondering about this after the op.
with such large sums involved how come wpex poker never took off.
they were giving 100% rakeback when the first started and it is 75% now.
i know the sofware was crap in the begining and very few players but i thought for sure people would flood to this site.
    any1 played/play on it now ?

I realised I pay 10% to play poker, but only 5% on Betfair winnings. I lose at poker, and win a little on Betfair (and Paddy Power). No contest.
