Just watching this now and having not met him before he comes across as very genuine and down to earth.
Theres so many other sports 'stars' who's only concern is themsleves and how much money they earn.

For someone who is obviously one of the best golfers in the world he just seems like a real easy going nice fella.
Seem to remember a few people on here who have met him. I take it that the way he is on camera is pretty similar to the way he is off it?

(bit of a pillock that shane ward who was on afterwards :p )

That was just a side comment I had, nothing really to do with golf. But yeah, there are a good few golfers I cant stand. Montgomery and Faldo, and a good few americans.

Have to agree with that. Definitely comes across as a genuine guy. I know a couple of people who played a few holes with him during a company day out. It was raining all day but it didn't dampen his spirits as he played with guests for over 5 hours. Offered advice, complemented good shots and chatted with everyone he played with.

I was in stackstown with him. He would not be the friendliest of people. Not very charismatic, but a very fine golfer and a credit to the country in that regard.

I met Ernie Els yesterday and he was saying exactly that about Harrington. Said he's an absolute gentleman. Then again, Els was all that and more himself.

So did Ernie share any swing secrets or top tips that you could let us in on Graeme??

And did he mind when you asked him to autograph your balls? ;):D

:D I was talking to him for a while about how big a part confidence plays in golf. I'm writing an article on him at the moment and once it's done i'll post a link or the story up on here.

No comment on the signing of balls though!:D
