does anyone else think that for the last few episodes of the late late the camera work has been very bad and amator. Its really bad - Ive noticed it last time i saw it which was a few weeks ago and again tonight.

I'm no expert myself, but you seem to know a bit yourself by the sounds of it

surely it's more the the bad producer/director/monkey who is in the VT booth calling out what camera shot he wants to go out live...

can you give an example of the bad camera work that you are on about..

No I dont but when someones talking and the camera is on someone else or on the ground I know thats not good ;)

Last time I watched it to it was really bad - kept aiming it at wrong place or moving camera around when it should be still.

Its mainly when theres a few guest sor a performer singing or that that it just seems so disorganised and unprofessional camera work.

I just switched it on and see that ugly looking what ever you call her, what a waste for the Late Late Show having her on. She's still sounds as tick as ever and the make up if thats what she has plastered on her face

Usually down to the floor manager/director as opposed to the camera crew. They just follow the format they've been told

Yup, I think they must have snuck down to the nearest pub for a few pre-show pints behind Uncle Gaybo's back for most of the 70's as the director would always cut to a camera that frantically trying to position a shot.

Back then the format wasn't as 'stilted' as it is now and there was a lot more audience participation. They could never position the boom mic in time during discussions with audience members, and when did manage it there was always a howling feedback sound.

I think it's all part of the 'charm' of RTE that they screw up technically so often, with Radio 1 being the biggest culprit. Any insomniac will tell you that they probably let the night security guy handle the controls on Radio 1 during the night.

On friday night I quite enjoyed the way the camera moved slowly from Russel Brands boots up his legs to linger on his crotch before moving up to the rest of him!!! :D
