Angle shoot?

Ok first off, I realise there have been a sh*tload of threads on this after the Gholi/ Trippie incident, but Im not sure if this actually qualifies...

I was playing last week, and noticed one of the guys at my table was constantly taking ages with his turn and timing out, but then coming back and acting really fast for a while, then slow again. I got the impression he was playing a few tables, or had gone deep in a tourney and wasn't really paying attention...

Anyway, he had a decent stack, around $250, I had been at the table about an hour and had gotten up to about $220. So I pick up 10 K and flat call, folded around to this guy who takes about 20 seconds and flat calls aswell. Flop comes a delicious 9 Q J rainbow, so I bet out $2.99 for no apparent reason, though a plan was formulating in my head :)

He takes a while and eventually calls. Turn is a brick and I bet $199, mainly just out of interest in whether something this obvious COULD work, but admittedly I was hoping he would think it was $1.99 and make the call.

Whether or not this is why he called I don't know, but he did and another brick on the river saw the pot shipped over to me. When I checked his cards after he had AJ, and he seemed like a solid enough player. Nothing was typed in the chat box by him, although one of the other players did type 'sneaky'.

So my question is, would this be considered angle-shooting on my behalf?

I have to hold my hand up and say I tried something like this against an asshole I was having a constant stream of serious nasty text box abuse from when I got lucky against him in a hand.

He keeps up the 'your mother' etc abuse for about ten minutes, I get dealt kings and pushed all in, i immediately typed in the chat box, "sorry misclick, please don't call" other folded and as hoped my friend called with Q10 and I stacked him.

He did go a bit mental after this if I recall rightly. Stalked me for about a month online abusing me.

Was worth it though. And yes, i am a scumbag.

    :D

This counts as an angle shoot yes. I'm not saying you are a bad man and going to hell but if you trick someone into calling off a couple of hundred dollars that they didn't mean to then it can hardly be anything other than an angle shoot can it?

    Not really,
If in a live game and you bet €5 on the flop,
then on the turn announce €500, if the other player isn't paying attention to the bet amount, and calls then it is his fault.

Online its just the reverse of betting $9.99 to look stronger
