Rivers Cuomo of weezer is releasing a home demo CD with demos ranging from 1992-2007 on it. it's entitled "Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo"

it include some of the infamous "Songs from the Black Hole" that was scrapped in favour of weezer's best record (pinkerton).

the tracklisting is - according to wikipedia is
    1. "Ooh"
    2. "The World We Love So Much"
    3. "Lemonade"
    4. "The Bomb"
    5. "Buddy Holly"
    6. "Chess"
    7. "Longtime Sunshine"
    8. "Blast Off!"
    9. "Who You Callin' Bitch?"
    10. "Wanda (You’re My Only Love)"
    11. "Dude We're Finally Landing"
    12. "Superfriend"
    13. "Lover in the Snow"
    14. "Crazy One"
    15. "This Is the Way"
    16. "Little Diane"
    17. "I Wish You Had an Axe Guitar"
    18. "I Was Made for You"
    19. "Jamie"
some of these songs were released on to the internet by Rivers during 98-02 and were basically mp3's.

from what i've heard of the ones that were released by Rivers were possibly some of his greatest work.

it's going to be great getting a demo of Buddy Holly, Jamie (b-side release).

if you don't like weezer's recent efforts like me the origins of the tracks is good news.
    • Tracks 1-6 were recorded before the release of the band's debut album, Weezer (The Blue Album).
    • Tracks 7-9, 11-12 were demos for Songs from the Black Hole, recorded in 1994 and 1995.
    • Track 10 was recorded in 1995, originally intended for the movie Angus but was replaced with the song "You Gave Your Love To Me Softly".
    • Tracks 13-14 were recorded in 1997 ("Lover in the Snow") and 1998 ("Crazy One") during Weezer's often talked about hiatus.
    • Tracks 15-17 are of an unknown origin.
    • Track 18 was written for Make Believe.
4 songs that are possibly from post 98 Rivers.

this is going to be the release of the year for me i think, as i have always had a spot in my heart for pinkerton and the blue album.

it hits the shops on the 18th of december in the US, so hopefully it will hit ireland on the 14th.

can i wait is another thing?

I'm really looking forward to this. One mate told me about a tune called 'Pig', thats on youtube, its supposed to be a recording by Weezer for the next album. I told another friend, and she told me about this. Didnt know much info about it, until now. It does sound promising, really like Rivers. Hopefully he does some touring for it sometime.

Am liking that clip of Longtime Sunshine!
