Seen that alright, seems to be from faulty 70-200 f2.8IS lens shorting the contacts. Strange though looks to me more like a result of chemicals on plastic. Didnt stop me from ordering one though although I see the E3 got a good preview in Amateur Photographer this week.

I thought the E-3 would be a similar configuration to the 1d bodies with a grip built in at the bottom? four thirds seems is going smaller..

Well my new one is working just fine ...

But the real test is coming ... Botswana and Namibia in the height of summer ...

If it still works after this then I'll even consider not sending it back for the recall ... :o

Leinsterman if I was taking a once in a life time trip like Botswana and Namibia I would not even consider for a moment taling a chance on having AF problems, if I was you I would have it repaired before I would go, I'm sure you will bring a back up body but the problems that have arrisen with the MKIII all arrise from hot sunny conditions so I think you would be taking a huge chance on this one.

georgey it's not that bad. Read about the AF fault and the conditions in which it becomes evident. Sure the MKIII would be a fine body to go traveling with.

leinsterman expect lots of sharp action shots up on your flickr when ya get back :)
