    Hi all,
I'm buying a Point and shoot digital camera for my girlfriend who's going travelling next year. I've bought a few cameras from Pixmania in the past and while there was a few delays i always got the camera in the end and was happy. Just looking at the prices for the Canon A720 IS and the Komplett site has it at E227 inc delivery while pixmania is E238 including delivery. I'm just wondering has anyone any comments on Komplett and if so any problems, if not i'll run with them obviously
    Cheers

Komplett are absolutely brilliant. I've been using them for PC hardware the last couple of years and have never had any problems at all with them. They offer multiple shipping options and have a forum right here on boards should you need assistance with anything. I'd go with them over Pixmania any day. :)

Komplett are just fine until you need to return something 'cause it's wrong/broken. Their RMA process is a royal pain in the ar*e. Pixmania might be just as bad on this front though - haven't used them.

Komplett's packaging is always pristine ,always makes it easier when you know your stuff is well packed:)

Pixmania seem to throw stuff into a box and basically thrash the stuff.

Pixmania give an extra years warranty. I have used both and am pleased with both, never had to return stuff. I am 50/50 so would go on price, but I would pay an extra few % for the free extra warranty, dunno what they are like for warranty though.

cheers for the reply folks, I hadn't spotted the extra years warranty on pixmania. I went ahead and ordered from Komplett anyways. Either way i've added another online shop to my repertoire and hopefully all will go well

Komplett is 5x better than pixmania any day.
Ive bought from both and like has been said already pixmania's boxes are always busted. Kompletts are nearly always perfect and they usually use an post as far as i remember.

Im currently in the process of sending backa harddrive i bought from pixmania that i bought ages ago. They waited over a mont to get back to me so i'd have to pay postage...
Ive sent back a wireless card to komplett and there were no problems quick and efficent.

    Hope that helps

but I kinda second this ... things arrive ... packaged a bit funnily ... also the shipping / instock details can be taken with a grain of salt with pixmania ...

Purchased a lot from komplett .. no problems

Have bought a lot from both suppliers, very happy with both.

Pixmania's return policy is also harsh, but if the product is defective they will re-emburse you for the postage. Komplett will not.
In fact I just bought a canon package from pixmania, came in cheaper than komplett (or dabs even).

No they won't. I know. Bought a Creative Vision M last Nov. that wouldn't work. Returned it. Eventually got refunded for purchase only, not for return postage. Time between return and reimbursement = 14 weeks. They wouldn't give individual replys to e-mails, only automated answers that meant nothing in my case. I had registered the package so I knew it was delivered to them.

I've had terrible trouble with Pixmania, avoid.

My experiences with Komplett have been excellent. No problems at all.........

I have used komplett on loads of occasions and find them to be very good, I also returned defective items through their rma process and never had that much of a problem.

dunno what to say, I sent back a defective media player they refunded me the money back the money to my credit card, and later sent them on the receipt for posting it back and they refunded that aswell.

Info on their website : http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/faq-7-7--who-pays-for-return-shipping-fees.html

Only bad experience I've ever had with an online company was with pixmania, terrible customer service, got a defective monitor off them that again had to practically harrass a supervisor there into giving me my refund.

Komplette- excellent, would pick them without hesitation even if pixmania were cheaper.

used both and never had any trouble but only bought small stuff off em.

Am thinking of buying an av amp and speaker set off pixmania but am getting worried now...it would be kinda harder that a camera to return if it was busted up on arrival.

And what is with that Zen Engagement rubbish they try and tack on when you buy anything? Surely under E.U. law ye must have at lest 1 years warranty anyway.

I've bought a fair amount of stuff from both Pixmania and Komplett and no problems with either. I've had no difficultly with poor packaging from Pixmania either - maybe its the luck of the draw? I wouldn't fancy having to return anything to either company though.

14 weeks? Pah, amateur!!:p I was 5 months waiting for a refund, despite having cancelled the order before it ever left their warehouse. The held on and on, despite DHL confirming it had been returned to them, signed, dated, the lot. Never again. And they wouldn't refund the shipping.

i have used both, not once not twice. every time there is a problem with komplett - i am wainting ages, never had to wait with pixmania, they just refunded DOA stuff

i will never buy at komplett again. they cust service is a joke, emails are not being replied for days, and after 3-4 of them sent they just sending you an email 'well, we replied two days ago, didnt you get it'

    komplet=no no no, never
i stick to pixmania and dabs.

not to mention that for e20 you have a delivery in 24-36hrs, NEVER EVER had this with komplet, i always ended up paying extra and get the parcel delivered after a week or so 'because dhl mistake'. weird - every time THEY make mistake.

komplet is ****e, the truth is they never had a real competitor, that is why people is just used to them.

I have used both but mainly Komplett over the years. Never a problem with Komplett, ever. Pixmania I have found pretend to have items in stock that they don't and rarely seem to answer any queries. I am quite wary of Pixmania and would only use them when all else fails. I have returned items to Komplett in the past and there was no great issue. The fact of them having an office to make returns to in Ireland does help a lot. Well they used to have an Irish return depot. That may have changed since they dropped GLS as a delivery courier.

I notice the OP ordered from Komplett. I wonder how that went?

Komplett are easy to order from, but I've had awful luck with the stuff I've gotten from them. Between me, my dad and a colleague of mine who all ordered components at the same time, we've had the following fail:

    3 sets of RAM
    2 monitors
    2 PSU
    1 set of speakers
    1 HDD

The RMA procedure is OK, but the cost of shipping back heavy items is a pain. Komplett insisted that we had to deal with the monitor manufacturer directly, though I thought that this was the resaler's responsibility. Luckily it worked out better as they dropped out a replacement one and took the old one away.

This could just be bad luck, but it has put me off them.
