Filming at music festival

Do music festival organisers normally let you film with a handheld video camera at the event?
If so, are there rules? like can't film the stage or acts?

I'm sure it varies from festival to festival, but has had anyone had an experience?
    All advice appreciated,
    Dave

Getting in is one issue i guess, but once i'm in will they be annoyed if they see me with it?

I'd rather keep to the festival rules, rather than smuggle it in and film under cover of darkness, so really I'm asking if they allow you to bring one in?
