Does anyone know will old air-rifle scope be ok on my new cz.
It's a Smk 4x32 cheapo. I've been told air-rifle scopes have to be a little more robust due to the double kick in a springer.
    Any ideas?

I would imagine it will be fine as there is no recoil from .22lr or .17HMR.

Not that the recoil would do any damage but the scope wont do the rifle justice 4x32 would be lost on a cz get on to ebay and buy yourself a hawke shouldnt cost you more than 50euro for something half decent that will last ya.

A cheap smk will break your heart losing zero and alsorts and wont do much for your confidence in shooting which is important

Just after purchasing the rifle so may have to wait a couple of weeks before i can afford a scope.
Then i'll invest in something decent.
Apart from Hawke what makers would you recommend?
I assume 3-9x32 would be ideal?

If you say how much your willing to spend and what you want to be using it for ie long range short range rabbits foxes and in the day or lamping/dusk might be able to narrow it down a bit

At the moment it's rabbits during the daytime and lamping.
I also like to do some target shooting.
Distance? As far out as i can get a clean shot i suppose.

i'd be looking at 4.5-14x or 4-16x around that mark and a 40mm or 50mm objective. Although a 3-9x40 would work fine.

Best advice i can give you is spend as much as you can on the scope it willstand to you later on.

I just had a look at my new scope to see what make it is, they didnt even bother to put their name on it. I know it was a cheepy as it came as part of a package ie gun, mod, scope, slip & sling for €600. In low light conditions yesterday at 4pm the scope was near useless for spotting, well, less effective than my eye sight alone. At 100 yards I couldnt tell if a shape in the distance was a rabbit or a piece of wood. In good daylight its fine so I am not complaining just acknowledging its limitations.

I had problems mounting a 40mm scope onto my 452 standard, so you may need high mounts.

    I'd say medium/high.
