Ok, I'm heading to Japan after christmas for some splurging and wanted to pick up afancy new phone. Currently have the k800i and I must say I love it. However it's soon time for an upgrade.

Couple of things though - if I pick a phone up over there will it work over here?

    Now what do people recommend?

probably not..they don't use GSM i believe.. ofcourse some of the phones may also be capable of using GSM.. probably gonna have to do a bit of research..

You'll see some amazing phones, but as the previous poster said you'll definately have to leave it behind.

Japanese phones are on a whole different wavelength (literally!) Something like 6G compared to our paltry 3G and the American 2(.5?)G

Having said that - we only get the best ideas that have survived years of testing by the Japanese/Koreans :) ...we'll just have to wait a few years though.

You might want to take a read of this.

I'm not sure how accurate it is though.
