Hi, well I've decided I'm finally gonna take the plunge and order one of those sweet looking military Steyr AUG's off Shiva's site, but there is one question I need someone in the know to answer....

....what sort of adapter do I need for the charger? It seems to only have two pins  will one of the shaving plug adapter thingies work? Also, is that charger reliable?, it wont blow up or anything?

    Thanks :)

I'll put an adapter in the box with it.
I havent had anyone come back to me with reports of chargers blowing up yet, but its not an auto cut off, so you'll have to remember to unplug it before you burn out your battery.

I have been using a shaving adaptor on my MP5K and UMP and seem to have no issues at all. Just make sure that the distance between the pins is great enough to fit the adaptor.... and the charger is rated for the correct voltage too :D

should work,am usin 1 myself. You don't get any warranty withb batts or chargers on clones as they malfunction from time to time.Good choice by the way :D

Cheers for the speedy replies guys!

EDIT: Shiva, for the BB's the stock levels are in minus numbers, does that mean you are out?

Its a done deal! Had a bit of a dilemma there, Steyr or Thompson....arghhh.....I will return someday for that Thompson! ;)

Cheers for the help guys. By the way Shiva, that Steyr is my present from 'Santa' :p, so make it festive (ie, just imagine if I were to recieve a free Thompson! I'd be a happy chappy!) haha.

try Heatons, they're cheapest I've found, B&Q, Woodys etc all do them as well.

yeah i got one in the end but was hard to find, i got the wrong one at first, it was supposed to be a universal one but it only took the type with the 2 flat prongs and the one with the round pins like the AEG ones but with thicker pins.,

Hey, anyone have any idea as to where to get a sling to fit on the Steyr, ie the type that is currently used by the Defences Forces, had a look around a few sites but cant seem to spot one.

    Thanks.

Cannot go wrong with an Aug, cept for a BE one. There starting to become to common though....every week like 4 or 5 people have them. Not as common as armalites but getting close....

I may need to get the 550 just to be unique...

Yeah I was reading some reviews on AUG clones and the Both Elephant version wasnt fairing too well. Does the JG clone have a round aim point in the optics? The 'real steel' has a square aim point, no? Or am I imagining things (its been 3 years since I fired one )

The real one has a standard crosshair with a circle with a hole in the middle in the middle of the crosshair.

Yes, and the CA replicates the real one completely. The Jg, I dunno. If you check Reviews on ArniesAirsoft there may be info.

Hey, just wondering, has anyone got one of those JG military AUG's yet?? Be great to see an indept review and some detailed photo's etc. Trying hard to find decent reviews and pictures on the net, but to no avail :(. I need an Irish perspective :p

(I know Bullets has a great review and pictures of the JG civvie Aug and CA Military version, but I'd like to hear more about the JG version).

    Cheers :)

I have both as well(CA is in bits and the JG I gave to me bro) The CA's rate of fire is a bit faster, gears are slightly better and the finish on the plastic stock in the JG looks just a wee bit off. Thats about it tbh, I can see why CA has moved into plastic guns.

The AUG arrived today, thanks Shiva! ;)

Anyway, as its my 'present from Santa' (Damn, why did I tell my parents I still believe in ol' saint nick!!:p). Anyway, I got a real quick look over it, just to make sure everything was ok and in order.

Have to say, on having handled and fired the 'real steal' AUG, that the weight is there alright, its pretty hefty (the weight surprised me in fact, I wasnt expecting it to be as heavy, but it feels like the correct weight) and somewhat 'butt heavy', but it doesnt have the feel of the real deal, possibly the type of polymer used for the stock. And the cocking lever, I'm thinking if there would be a way to put a stronger spring in that, its pretty weak, not that it does anything anyway. The sight is pretty cool too! Havent fired it, as I said, it was just a very quick groping :D

Havent held or used a real one in about 3 years so it was pretty cool alright to hold one again, all the memories came flooding back, the days on the ranges, the smell of the propellent and the excitement of walking up to the targets to see what a crap shot you were :p.

Butt heavy due to Bullpup design. Means the Batt and all the internals(gearbox and motor) are in the stock:p
