Is my PS3 OK?

    Bought a PS3 60GB about 2 months ago.

Wondering if the console is faulty or not

When playing F.E.A.R. the icons in the head up display are shaky and the load screen is really shaky.
The load screen of The Darkness is the same.
Fifa 08 froze the first time I played it on the load screen.
When you press the PS button, the turn off console screen is also shaky

I have not had the same issues with resistance or RR7

    Has this been everyones experience?

can't explain fifa, but this "shakiness" sounds like the tv to me. make sure the connections are ok, and that the ps3's display settings are set for your tv (on xmb it's under settings -> display settings)

i wouldve thought the tv too or else the cable. have you tried to connect anything else via the cable to test it?

Sounds like an issue with your TV. Are you using it on a HD tv? If you are- check you have disabled 1080i in the Display Settings. Interlaced screens will have a "shaky" effect on some/all TVs. This is what it sounds like to me, display resolutions like 1080i are more suited to smoothly moving graphics - static pictures will tend to look quite shakey.

If this doesn't solve it - try plugging it into another tv in your house. General shaky-ness is likely to be a sync issue - It is more likely to be a TV problem i think.

Let us know how you get on anyway
