    Hi,

I'm about to order the Samsung LE40M87BD but also need to get a wall bracket for it as I'm intending to mount it on my bedroom wall. I will be mounting it at the corner of the wall so need a pull out swivel bracket so that I can turn it at angle to face the bed.

Can anyone recommend one, where I could buy it and if it's difficult to mount on the wall etc?

    Thanks

Checked Komplett and they don't have the pull out and swivel bracket I'm looking for and the ones they do have are extremely expensive!

    Heres the rub ,

A 40 inch TV on a swivel mount puts a lot of weight on the wall , extending the arm ( heres the physics ) magnifys the pressure ( effective weight ) on the wall the further it is extended , think in terms of levers here , remember those from back in school ?

You will need to get a swivel mount that can take 60kg or more , even though the TV weighs only 17-18kg.

And those dont come cheap , as a matter of fact Komplett have some of the cheapest Ive seen ... so if you must have a swivel mount , you must make sure its rated for a least 60 KG , make sure your wall plugs are solid and professional , and the bracket must be made of strong stuff , or your TV is gonna bounce off the ground.

If possible , re-think how your going to mount the TV , a swivel bracket for a 40 inch is a bit much , see if you can come to a compromise fixed position , that way you can get a cheaper mount.

Wow a swivel that can take 60KG? Surely a lighter swivel would suffice? I don't think Komplett has a 40inch swivel bracket or do they? Send me the link if you can?
Would you know how to mount one btw? :P

Put it this way , say your holding a 10kg weight , close to your chest its fine , now hold it out at arms length , big difference right ?

Yes komplett do swivels for 40 inch tv's rated at that weight , they have to be to take the TV , and no a lighter one wont do , not if you want peace of mind anyway , you need to be sure your TV is not going to be in bits on the floor when you get up in the morning.

    Wallmounts are here ,

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/kl.aspx?bn=10617

The cheapest is about 250 and rated for 45kg , that wouldnt be good enough in my opinion , all the swivels are rated at 45 or higher for the reasons outlined above.
Any swivel / extended one that can take a 40 inch safely is rated around that weight mark.

Hopw about this one then? Doesn't really have a swivel arm?

Looks good , has the right ratings ( 75kg ) , and very cheap , so it should work , watch out for the notes on mounting holes though , see if you can get the dimensions of the mounting holes on your TV , that bracket doesnt take some , it says so in the blurb on that page.

Bought i just there Mathias! Should be delivered by Tuesday, €150 all in. Great price. I asked the guy at the shop and they said it fits all LCDs and plasmas and definetly will fit Samsung LCD and the only problem they have with fitting is Phillips.

BTW are you an expert at fitting brackets into walls and mounting LCDs?

Anyone heard of or seen the new vogel's remote controlled extendable wall mount bracket for flat panels.Cool Wall Mount

If the funds were available this would be a very cool option.

This is available with a remote, and when the screen is not in use can be programmed to sits tight to the wall. Then when you want to watch the screen simply press a button on the remote and it extends out to a pre-determined position.

I've seen one of these on sale in the UK for £600 approx:eek:.

    Have a go at DIY.

If at all possible mount it on a solid wall rather than a stud partition. Use expandable fixings.

If you have no choice but a stud partition wall then I would suggest you make sure you get your fixings into a minimum of 2 battons (joists) or you may find your TV on the ground some day.

Any electrician should be able to help you find the battons. If you know one.

Thanks but won't manage a DIY job! Don't want to ruin the wall or the tv. Asked the plumber that fitted my electric shower and he said he would be able to do it at €20 an hour but said that he won't take responsibility if the tv falls off the wall!!
So I'm happy to pay someone that knows what they are doing to mount it for me.

Anyone out there or recommend someone?

A pro AV Installation can cost €€€. Sometimes can cost more that the bracket itself.

    Where are you located?

City centre. D8. Opposite Smithfield Luas stop on other side of the bridge beside the most expensive Statoil in Ireland! :P

Yes, but my guys are based in Kildare. Don't think they'll be doing any installations in town this side of the hols.

Crap! How much would it cost roughly? This is the bracket I bought http://www.rs100.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=474 Should be strong enough for the LCD?

And it's to be mounted on a stud partition wall. No choice unfortunately? The bracket comes with all the bolts, screws and fixings so hopefully it won't be too big of a job? The wall sounds hollow enough when I knock on it so my biggest fear would be that bracket and tv ripping off the wall, damaging the tv and bracket and leaving a nasty hole on my wall.

Could you recommend a pro that works in Dublin?

Just enquiring if the wall mount arrived and have you had it fitted. I purchased the same tv yesterday and also wish to mount it into a corner (solid block) wall.

If you want to flash the cash I belive the Samsung motorised mount fits that TV. You can move the TV from the remote.
