    Saw this on sluggerotoole
1.39 The effect of these proposals will be to ensure that sufficient capacity is available for all PSB services on Multiplexes 1 and 2 but that their capacity will be used more intensively than it is now. S4C, the Gaelic Digital Service (GDS), and TG4 will each be available on a PSB multiplex in, respectively, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland (subject to any other agreements or consents required); and Five will be available to 98.5% of the UK population via DTT.

I think this is excellent news - I think it would be beneficial for it to be available via freesat as well! prob many price and copyright restrictions.
I must try and point the new UHF ariel to divis or wherever to see if I can confirm it works.:)

It'll not be there for a while yet, it is still available on Analogue though from Black Mountain.

My dad will be cancelling his NTL. (He can't get Clermont or BlackMountain)

It only says TG4 will be carried on Freeview it doesnt say anything about RTE.

Mind you I always thought putting TG4 on analogue from Divis (It IS Divis rather than Blackmountain as far as I Know) was a stupid idea anyway because (leaving aside the arguments about how many people really understand the language *) hardly any of the (very few) people who can actually receive it from Belfast cannot receive it (with better reception) from Claremont (or some other Irish transmitter) A far better idea would have been to use the frequency for a seventh DTT multiplex which could have carried all 4 Irish channels ** and the NVTV community channel with much better coverage

    * Then again it is a good channel for Films (in English)
** UTV would probably object to the inclusion of TV3 despite the fact that UTV would enjoy a more favorable EPG position

It is Black Mountain, CC, like Divis can't be received in parts of the West Belfast.
I agree it was an odd allocation though as anyone using Kippure for TG4, unable to receive CC, lost TG4 due to co-channel from Belfast.

Its also co-channel with Limavady although I havent heard of any problems arising from this (probably due to the highly directional/low power transmission)

I guess I stand corrected on it being from Black mountain. A lot of the media reports at the time it opened said Divis

So I see - there does seem to be a lot of confusion as to where exactly it is TX-ing from, maybe I'm wrong !

Divis & Blackmountain are close. Mostly an aerial pointed gets both equally. Viewed from Castlereagh hills or South Belfast, you can see both, but still close enough together for a single aerial.

What CH does it broadcast on from Divis/Black Mountain?

    It's on CH59.

    Paddy C

In Armagh Id imagine youd be far better trying for Claremont (Ch 68 Vert) or (failing that) Monaghan (Ch 64 Horiz)

Claremont would also have the three other Irish channels (Monaghan doesnt have TV3 and the RTE's are on VHF)

Oh, I have RTÉ from Clermont and the DTT trials too. I was just asking out of curiosity, thats all. :)

Apologies, Ulsterman, it is indeed coming from Divis, though quite low down the tower.
