    Hi,
Vague kind of question but have a relatives prison badge. He was arrested in Cork in 1916(following the rising), taken to Richmond barracks, then jailed in Wakefield and Finally Frongoch camp (where he died), anyone any idea which prison the badge might be from?

    Cheers,

    Hi Sydney,

I have two suggestions for you.

1). Bring it with you to the IPSA shoot, some of the guys are Prison Officers and they know a bit about things like that.

2). or post it on Boards.ie/Military at

    Hi sidneyreilly,

thanks for posting the badges here! It's nice to see them (I have never seen any before) although we may not be able to help but V Bull's suggestions should hopefully give you the answer. If you do find out more about the badges it would be great if you could post an update here too! ;)

    Best,

    Preusse

Lovely bit of family history and the material culture attached to it!!

Long shot here; the National Museum at Collins Barracks has an exhibition on about the Irish at war through the ages. There might be something there like what you have or one of the curators might be able to help.

    Good luck!!
